Since
2000 I have had the pleasure of being named Doctor John
by Sifu Berry. Having grown up a seeker for knowledge,
and drawn to the martial arts, I was most fortunate to
meet Sifu Arthur Berry. Through his skill, compassion,
and patient friendship, and that of my elder brothers
and sisters in the art, and in spite of my own weakness
and deficiencies, I have attained to a moderate skill
level.
With
humility, I hope to be able to pass on some of Sifu Berry's
knowledge, and to honor his legacy and that of esteemed
ancestors such as Grandmaster Yin Chian Ho, to whom my
debt is great. My wish is for all students of the art
to attain the wisdom and serenity which may come to those
on this path, no matter their style, and may peace be
upon us all.
